2009 Builder Hall of Fame Inductees

Nationwide Custom Homes

Nationwide Custom Homes, a division of national systems-built home manufacturer Palm Harbor Homes, has named four builders as inductees into its Builder Hall of Fame which honors approved independent builders who have been with Nationwide for 12 years or more.

The Hall of Fame recipients include husband and wife team Alfred and Donna Belka, owners of Tidewater Modular Homes in Virginia Beach, VA, Eddie McConnell Jr., president of W.E. McConnell & Sons, Inc., in Gate City, VA, Lloyd Dilday, owner and president of Chesapeake Homes in Lively, VA and Wayne and Alice Turner, owners of Heartland Home Developers Inc. in Rockmart, GA.  In addition to the 12 years as a Nationwide approved independent builder, inductees had to attain $4 million in sales and demonstrate support and involvement in the modular industry.

Nationwide Custom Homes began the Hall of Fame in 1994.  This year's inductees received their awards at Nationwide's 50th anniversary celebration and open house in Martinsville, VA, on April 24.

"This is a professional milestone for each of the builders who were honored as an inductee into the Hall of Fame and a partnership milestone for Nationwide," said Nationwide President Andy Miller. "These builders have been consistently strong, successful partners to Nationwide and share in our vision to provide home buyers with the home they want, built the modular way."

What Customers are Saying About Our Custom Homes

"Sometimes things work out better than imagined. When we started this project with Nationwide we, like most every home buyers, hoped that we made the right choice. Time has proven us correct. In fact, the entire process worked out smoother than we expected -

In 1994 we had a home stick built with a great builder and it was a very smooth, enjoyable process. This past project was equally pleasant and a bit quicker. Our home is also constructed, without doubt, more solidly. These 6 inch walls are great!

Our house was built with the materials we specified. This sort of commitment and integrity during tough times speaks volumes about Dennis and Nationwide. When small things were brought to Dennis's attention, he has always moved swiftly and decisively to make things right.

It is refreshing, and reassuring, to work with people who honor their word and conduct their business with integrity. "
